The AI writing coach that keeps you the author
Margin notes and conversation first — suggestions when you want them, always in your voice.
Free to start. No credit card required.
A reader in the margin, not a ghostwriter
Other AI tools hand you paragraphs. LarkWrite hands you questions — the kind a great editor would ask.
The kitchen was quiet after everyone left. I stood at the sink for a while, not washing anything.
|
Question
What did the quiet sound like — appliances, street noise, your own breathing?
Idea
Why the sink, of all places? There may be a habit or memory there worth naming.
Reader's notes
Margin comments from a thoughtful reader — questions about sensory detail, emotional truth, and structure. Anchored to your text, never inserted into it.
Explore in conversation
Answer a margin note in a coaching chat. The AI asks follow-ups and suggests angles — like a workshop partner who refuses to hold the pen.
Your voice, your rules
Share past writing to build a voice profile, and set mandatory writing rules that ban AI tells: no assistant tone, no hedging, no clichés.
Any form. Your words.
Describe your genre in your own words when you start a project — the AI adapts its questions and feedback to that form.

Questions, answered
- Does the AI write my book for me?
- It can offer text when you ask — through Revise, Reframe, or Generate Ideas — but LarkWrite is built around questions, margin notes, and coaching, not handing you a finished draft. Suggestions are starting points meant to sound like you. AI-inserted text stays highlighted, and you earn points for words you write yourself, so the design keeps you the author even when you use help.
- What genres does LarkWrite support?
- Any genre you can describe in your own words: memoir, slam poetry, personal essays, song lyrics, political writing, short stories, fantasy novels — or any blend. You set the genre per project and the AI adapts its feedback and suggestions to that form.
- How does LarkWrite learn my voice?
- You share samples of your past writing — pasted, uploaded, or imported from platforms like Substack and Medium. LarkWrite builds a voice profile from them, so every question and suggestion fits how you actually write.
- Can I control how the AI writes?
- Yes. Writing rules are fully editable and apply to all AI output — by default they ban assistant tone, hedging, clichés, and other AI tells. Your rules are mandatory constraints, not suggestions.
- Is my writing private?
- Your projects are stored under your account and are only accessible to you. Writing is sent to the AI provider solely to generate feedback and suggestions for you, and your work is never used to train models or shared with other users.
- Is LarkWrite free?
- The Free plan includes one active project, a writing sample, and a monthly allowance of AI feedback. Pro unlocks unlimited projects and AI assistance, more samples, and export to Word, PDF, and EPUB.
